I hope your week is going well! I have put together two unboxing videos that I am excited to share. One is for The Quest Kids: Deluxe All-In version (above) and the other is for The Trials of Tolk the Wise Adventure Campaign (below). 

We are thrilled with how everything has turned out and would love to hear your thoughts about what you see.

Fulfillment Update: The ships have sailed!

Greetings Citizens of Treasure Falls,

I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Season and New Years. I am thrilled to say two boats with containers full of The Quest Kids and The Trials of Tolk the Wise have finally sailed from China! A ship headed to the UK/Europe left port on 12/25 and is scheduled to arrive on 1/20. Another shipped headed to the USA/Canada left port on 12/31 and is scheduled to arrive in Miami on 2/8. 

The reason for the further delayed shipping is the same reason I mentioned in the last update: because of Covid-19 there is a massive supply/demand problem at the port in China. We would have a set date to sail and then receive an update that the date had been pushed back a week. This happened multiple times. 

The good news is that our games are finally on the high seas and our fulfillment partners Quartermaster Logistics (USA/Canada) and Spiral Galaxy (UK/EU) are ready and waiting. 

The new and hopefully final plan is to fulfill all orders in February/March 2021. This includes the rest of the world (Asia through AFI and Australia/New Zealand through Aetherworks).

I also received a final production copy of both The Quest Kids and The Trials of Tolk the Wise and they look marvelous! I am going to create an unboxing video and share it in an update in the next few days. 

I greatly appreciate your patience during this long and complicated process. It has been quite the quest to fulfill this game, and while it took a bit longer than expected we are very happy with the results. 

Lastly, my apologies to backers of both this project and The Quest Kids: Matching Adventure for back-to-back updates with almost identical content. The games are being shipped together, so the shipping update is the same for both projects.

Shipping Update + Quest Prep Video Resources

Greetings Citizens of Treasure Falls, 

I have a significant shipping update and some cool new resources to unveil. Let's go!

SHIPPING UPDATE: 

In my last update in mid-October I laid out the schedule of our games being finished by early November and being shipped from China in mid-November. Well, all of the games (The Quest Kids and The Trials of Tolk the Wise) and add-ons (neoprene game mat, additional scoring sheets, etc.) were finished by early November. However, when it came time to book our ship we unfortunately ran into a "terminal collapse". This essentially means that for various COVID and Holiday related reasons there is an extreme shortage of vessels available at the terminal to ship goods from China to the USA. If you are interested in learning more here is a blog that our freight forwarder (Green Worldwide) put together explaining some of what it going on. 

We had been trying to get on an earlier ship (hence my lack of an update), however at this point it looks like our games will leave China on December 15th. They will make it to the USA about 25 days later and then be on their way to Quartermaster Logistics in Florida. As of now we are looking at a late January/early February 2021 delivery for the USA and Canada. 

Games should be shipped to backers in other parts of the world a bit more quickly. Right now we are anticipating games to arrive in early-January to backers in the UK (via Spiral Galaxy), Asia (via VFI) and Australia (via Aetherworks). 

QUEST PREP VIDEOS:

One goal with The Quest Kids has always been to make the setup and rules as streamlined as possible to get your young gamers to the table as quickly as possible. When you embark on The Trials of Tolk the Wise campaign a bit of additional setup is necessary. However, we are creating quick setup videos to assist with this process!

Both in the campaign guide and on the "Quest Prep Cards" included in the Dungeon Tile Deck you will find a QR code for each Quest in the campaign. If you scan this QR code you'll be taken to the Treasure Falls Games blog dedicated to that Quest. On this page you'll find the same written quest prep instructions from the campaign guide, but you will also see a quest prep video. Here is a look at the one we put together for Quest 1:

Our hope is these videos will take away any confusion on the setup for each quest and get you straight into the adventure. We have uploaded Quest Prep videos for the first two quests and will have all of the videos live by the time you get your game in early 2021.    

Thanks again for your patience and understanding during this long quest to create The Quest Kids. We are so close to the end of this journey and I can't wait for you to experience the game with the young heroes in your life.

Happy Friday! I wanted to chime in with a quick update to let you know that the production schedule I outlined in my last update is right on track (we are still set to ship the games from China in mid-November). 

I also wanted to share this unboxing video of the mass production version of The Quest Kids: Deluxe Edition that the manufacturer sent my way!

Production Update: Mass production run finished by end of October

Greetings Citizens of Treasure Falls, 

I hope everyone is doing well in these continuously challenging times. I know it has been a long time since my last update and I apologize for the silence. I want to assure everyone that there is not a major issue with the fulfillment of The Quest Kids or The Trials of Tolk the Wise. The games are currently being produced and the last date I received from my manufacturer for the end of mass production is the end of October. 

Now, in full disclosure I have been given many earlier dates for the end of mass production over the past two months and then varying reasons for why the deadline needs to be pushed (National Holidays, slight printing problems, back log of projects, etc.). It has been extremely frustrating.  However, I do feel confident that the games will be finished by the end of October and on a boat by mid-November. 

I realize this time line puts us very close to Christmas and most likely past. I know this is disappointing news and I am truly sorry (believe me - I want nothing more than to have these games as gifts under the tree). I will continue to do all I can to make this happen. 

Lastly, I just want to reiterate that the production of the Matching Adventure game has not slowed down the production of The Quest Kids at all. By design Matching Adventure has only a couple of different types of components and is very easy to produce. Plus, we are only making half as many copies of Matching Adventure as we are The Quest Kids and The Trials of Tolk the Wise.
